Counties to Announce ‘Unprecedented’ Exports Initiative Monday
A consortium of collar counties, the city of Chicago, JP Morgan Chase and public-private partnerships will hold a press conference Monday to announce the launch of what’s being described as an “unprecedented” regional exports initiative.
The Metro Chicago Exports collaboration is designed to help small and medium enterprises throughout the region to capture export opportunities and strengthen the Chicago area’s network of regional service providers, according to a media alert distributed Saturday.
Officials from the city of Chicago, and Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry and Will Counties will join JPMorgan Chase, the Brookings Institution and World Business Chicago to launch the Metro Chicago Exports initiative at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 29, at the Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago, 320 N. Damen Ave., Chicago.
More information on the project can be found at the Metro Chicago Exports website.
According to the website, Metro Chicago Exports will:
- Build a pipeline of export ready firms
- Provide concierge services to firms seeking to capture global opportunities
- Connect firms to international partners and local peer networks
- Reduce the initial business costs to reach new markets
Kane County Connects will follow up with an article after the press conference on Monday.
