OK, I’m not really good at this pop culture stuff, and I don’t think I’ve ever watched The Bachelorette from start to finish, but there is a Kane County connection this upcoming season, so I feel compelled to share the news.

The Daily Herald, WetPaint.com and others report that Clint Arlis, a Batavia High School grad, is one of the blokes who will be competing in the upcoming season of the romantic reality series, which debuts May 18.

Here’s his bio, courtesy of The Bachelorette:

Being in a partnership with your best friend.

My dad — for his work ethic, ingenuity and creative drive, and his way with people.

If you could be someone else for just one day, who would it be?
Chuck Norris, for obvious reasons.

Do you consider yourself a romantic?
Yes. I believe in passion and the idea of when I’m with someone, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else in the world.

About the Show

ABC’s hit romantic reality series, The Bachelorette, kicks off its 11th season with a big surprise: There will be two Bachelorettes. There’s the charming, charismatic beauty, Britt, who captivated Chris Soules and the rest of Bachelor Nation with a memorable hug on that first night at the Bachelor mansion, and Kaitlyn, the gorgeous, fun-loving, warm-hearted, but irreverent firecracker who let down her guard only to have her heart crushed. Who will the men prefer? Eventually, only one woman will be left to hand out the final rose.
