Introducing KCAC’s Pet of the Week: Lionel, the Potty-Trained Pot Belly Pig!
Here’s a pet adoption opportunity you don’t see every day.
Kane County Animal Control has a pot belly pig, ready for you to take home.
His name is Lionel, and he’s a neutered male between 1 and 2 years old.
Lionel came to KCAC as a stray. Like most pigs, he likes to eat, but he’s also very social and loves to play with both people and his toys! He enjoys spending time outdoors, However, this chilly weather doesn’t make him too happy. He’s very content to stay inside all rolled up in his blanket and eat.
Lionel is potty trained, but his new forever family will still need to train him until he becomes familiar with their routine. On occasion, Lionel can be a little pushy, so his ideal family would be one that not only is familiar with the breed and understands the demands of training a pot belly pig, but also gives him lots of belly rubs and makes him part of the family.
Lionel’s adoption fee is $25. He’s also available for transfer to licensed rescue organizations.
All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccines including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm. The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats.
