UPDATE: Roundabout Construction Starts April 11 at Burlington Road and Route 47
Construction of Kane County’s first modern roundabout will start April 11, 2016, in Campton Hills.
The work had been scheduled to start April 4, but the start was postponed to April 11.
Burlington Road will be closed to traffic between Dittman Road and Plato Road in order to reconstruct the intersection of Burlington Road and Illinois Route 47. The intersection improvement will include construction of the new roundabout. For more information, visit the Kane County Division of Transportation website at BurlingtonatIL47RAB.
Construction work hours will be from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday through the end of October, weather permitting.
The roadway improvements on Burlington Road from Dittman Road to Plato Road will include:
- Reconstruction of the intersection to accommodate a roundabout
- Ditch and embankment grading
- New roadway lighting
A posted detour route will direct traffic around the closure using U.S. Route 64, Dittman Road and Plato Road. Local traffic only will be permitted within the road closure. Motorists should be advised to follow the posted detour route around the project and to expect increase travel times. For additional information on this project and roundabouts visit the KDOT website at Burlington at Il Route 47 Roundabout.
