POW! OMG, Who’s More Adorable, Pitter or Patter?

“Cats can work out mathematically the exact place to sit that will cause the most inconvenience.”

Pam Brown, poet

  • KCAC’s Adorable, Adoptable Pet of the Week is written by Tecla Metzel of Kane County Animal Control.

Two innocent tortie kittens playing by a tree stump on a warm summer day in June catch the attention of one of Kane County Animal Control’s wardens. Named Pitter and Patter, the small 13-week-old felines are oblivious to the fact that had they continued to live outdoors their story might not have ended on such a positive note.

Pitter

Luck was on their side, however, and, after getting the green light from the county vet, Pitter and Patter were put up for adoption. Patter found her forever home fairly quickly and now it’s Pitter’s turn to find hers.

Pitter is all feline, her sleek, panther-like body belies her youth, but her behavior cannot be mistaken for anything other than an energized kitten. Curiosity drives her play-time as she chases a toy down the hallway and then darts under a desk.

She is always on the hunt to find new toys to play with or new cubbyholes to hide in. Watching birds from a window holds her attention for short periods of time and then it’s off to explore different places or tangle herself among a few computer wires.

Pitter isn’t the cuddliest of kittens, but she will definitely add a bit of fun to a home if someone is willing to give her the time to grow into the wonderful adult cat she is sure to become.

KCAC Updates

Patter, Pitter’s sister, went home to her new family last week. We’re sure they are learning the fine art of having a playful kitten in their home. Congratulations, Patter!
