The fairy tale Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs has endured in some form or other for centuries, attracting children from around the world to the story of the beautiful Snow White and her band of seven dwarfs. The leader of the hardworking little miners is, of course, Doc, who because of his compassion and big heart, convinces Grumpy to accept the lovely intruder and welcome her as a guest in the dwarfs’ home.

Doc

When KCAC received a 7-month-old black and brown tiger domestic shorthair as an owner surrender, it was obvious as to why he was named after the wise and kind dwarf.

Doc has the sweetest disposition. He’s definitely an attention hog and enjoys following his people around wherever they might go to check out what they’re doing.

How much attention is enough? Doc has no limits as long as there is a lot of cuddling involved. He might even keep up his end of the conversation as he attempts to help his owner plan their day.

Not only is Doc a people cat, he’s also a feline that enjoys the company of other cats, as well. If you’re looking for the ideal host for your home and family, then Doc is the purrrfect cat for you.

Molly

Congratulations to sweet Molly, a 2-year-old female pit bull that came into KCAC as a stray. She found her new forever home last week. It was hard to tell who was more excited — Molly or her family members. Stray no more, Molly, you’re finally home.

How to Adopt

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.

The usual adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150.

About Kane County Animal Control

It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:

• Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.
• Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
• Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
• Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate complaints of neglected and\or abused dogs.
