What’s white, brown and black with short hair, green eyes and moves faster than a chipmunk?

Why, it’s Howie, KCAC’s 5-month-old domestic shorthair kitten! Active doesn’t even begin to define this little guy who spends his days getting into as much kitten trouble as possible.

No space is too tiny for him to squeeze into; no counter or desk is too tall for him to jump or climb onto. Pens and paper may go flying, but Howie is on a mission to find the next best hiding place.

He might take a moment from his explorations to concentrate a few minutes on the fishing pole cat toy dangling from a desk or settle down near a window where he can watch the birds. But then he’s back to crawling behind a desk or jumping across the great divide to the nearest file cabinet.

Howie is looking for a family with enough energy to keep up with him, as well as with a home that might have a few new nooks and crannies to explore.

Hank

 Congratulations to Hank, our 10-year-old orange tabby that came to KCAC as a stray. Sweet, mellow Hank found the perfect family to give him the forever home we know he always dreamed about.

How to Adopt

All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.

The usual adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150.

About Kane County Animal Control

It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:

• Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.
• Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
• Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
• Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
• Investigate complaints of neglected and\or abused dogs.
