As a result of high levels of influenza cases and based on information from Kane County Health Department and the recommendation of Rush-Copley Medical Center, the IMSA campus closed at 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 22, and will stay closed through 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, school officials posted on the IMSA website.

All campus activities are cancelled until Monday, Jan. 29.

Students were required to report to their residence halls by 5 p.m., Monday and remain there until they are picked up by their parents. All students are required to depart campus no later than 5 p.m. today (Tuesday, Jan. 23), officials said. Meals will be provided in the residence halls until campus closure at 5 p.m.

IMSA will be providing one coach bus for drop off only at Bloomington, Springfield and Fairview Heights. The bus will depart IMSA at 10 a.m. today (Tuesday). Studetns can sign up for the bus here. Additional information will be forthcoming about shuttles to the ATC.

Residence Halls will reopen at 3 p.m. Sunday. Classes will resume as scheduled on Monday, Jan. 29.

During the closure, the buildings will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. The purpose of closing the school is to decrease contact among students in order to lessen their risk of getting sick and to limit the spread of infection.
