Earth Day 2018: Explore The Fabulous Fox Water Trail

Kane County has a wonderful asset that flows for 40 miles through the Fox River communities of the Sustainable Urban Area in the eastern part of the county.

So much so that a team of committed individuals from the headwaters of the Fox River in Waukesha County to the confluence with the Illinois River in LaSalle County are working with the National Park Service’s Rivers, Trails & Conservation Assistance Program to develop the Fabulous Fox Water Trail!

If you haven’t paddled any portion of the Fox River you’ve missed out on a different perspective of the natural areas, landscapes and scenic vistas as well as cultural and historic sites and communities that add to the quality of life in the Fox River Valley.

The Fox River Water Trail focuses on exploring the waterways throughout the Fox River Watershed.

The purpose of the Fabulous Fox Water Trail is to enhance recreational opportunities, be an economic driver for municipalities and counties along the Fox River and garner national recognition.

The Fabulous Fox Water Trail will include a website and plan where the public can access maps and background information before heading out on the water.

So plan to get out on the beautiful Fox River and explore!
