St. Charles OK’s Wahlburgers Restaurant at Route 38, Randall Road

Well, it’s official — the first Wahlburgers franchise in the state of Illinois will be going up right here in Kane County, IL.

The burger franchise that has its own A&E TV show got the nod Monday (June 4, 2018) from the St. Charles City Council to build the restaurant at an outlot of the Meijer property located at 855 S. Randall Road.

Construction is expected to begin this summer.

According to the city of St. Charles and local news media, the local franchise proposal was presented personally by St. Charles resident and star of stage and screen Donnie Wahlberg, who lives in St. Charles with celebrity spouse Jenny McCarthy and their family.

Officials say this will be the first Wahlburgers to be built from the ground up. Others had been located in pre-existing buildings. The franchise is touted as “the Boston burger restaurant” but has locations in 17 states. Illinois will be the 18th.

“It’s official! Last night the City Council gave Wahlburgers the go-ahead,” the city of St. Charles Facebook page said. “This paves the way for the first Wahlburgers in Illinois. The Wahlburgers on A&E crew was there to document the process.”

Expect to see St. Charles featured in the new season of “Wahlburgers,” which premieres June 13 on A&E.

What’s On The Menu?

Open daily for lunch and dinner, Wahlburgers offers full-service dining, counter service, take out and a full-service bar, according to its website.

In addition to a wide array of burgers and salads, the menu features “Jenn’s Chicken Sandwich,” which gets you in the 600-calorie range, and “Mom’s Sloppy Joe.”
