All New! Personalized Sample Ballots Now Available For Nov. 6 Election

Want to study up on the Nov. 6 General Election?
One of the best ways to find out what races and referendums you personally will be voting on is to check out your sample ballot in advance. Knowing who’s on the ballot and what decisions you’ll be making can help you make an informed decision.
Sample ballots for the Nov. 6 General Election have been posted on the Kane County Clerk’s Office election website.
We say “all new” in this article’s headline for a couple of reasons. First, the former Aurora Election Commission has been rolled in to the Kane County Clerk’s Office via referendum, so this is the first election that city of Aurora voters will vote under the Clerk’s Office direction.
Second, the Clerk’s Office website has been redesigned, so the look is a bit different and finding the sample ballot is visually different on the website.
The very good news is that, if you’re a Kane County resident, you can see your very own personalized sample ballot online. There are nine referendums on various ballots throughout the county.
The Nov. 6 ballot includes numerous candidates for state, federal government, countywide elected offices and judges.

How Do I Find My Sample Ballot?
Finding your sample ballot in Kane County is easy.
(1) Go to the www.kanecountyelections.org homepage.
(2) Click on “Sample Ballots” in the box under “Election Results”.
A “Voter Search” option will appear.
(3) Fill in your name, house number and street name.
Remember to just type in your street name only. For example, “Downing” rather than “Downing Place”.
Click “submit” and a list of voters in your household will appear.
(4) Click on Your Name
You will then see a “Voter Information” page, which contains information about your voting status, polling places and more.
PAY CLOSE ATTENTION AT THIS POINT, BECAUSE THIS IS WHERE SOME PEOPLE HAVE TROUBLE FINDING THE LINK TO YOUR PERSONALIZED BALLOT.
(5) Scroll to find “Sample Ballot” with a ballot code.
THIS IS THE PART THAT’S HARD TO FIND, AT TIMES.
We blew up the size a bit, so you can see it. The ballot code below is for a Geneva polling place. Unless you live in that same area of Geneva, your ballot code number will be different.

(6) Peruse your personalized sample ballot!
Keep in mind that there are different races and referendums, depending on where you live and what ballot you choose.
