Election 2018 Kane County Races: (FINAL) Hain Defeats Kramer For Sheriff, Changes Coming To County Board
3 PM WEDNESDAY (NOV. 7) UPDATE
As of 11 p.m. Tuesday, all 291 precincts are reporting, and the unofficial results are in for Kane County.
There were some incumbent upsets, including the Kane County sheriff’s race in which Republican Donald Kramer lost to Democratic challenger Ron Hain. The final margin was 87,087 for Hain, 77,678 for Kramer.
In other countywide races, Republican John “Jack” Cunningham held onto his Kane County Clerk’s Office seat, defeating Democrat Nicolas “Nico” Jimenez by a margin of 85,384 to 79,339.
Republican incumbent David Rickert defeated Democrat Jason Snelson 86,955 to 76,996 in the race for Kane County treasurer.
For Kane County Board, there were nine contested races in the odd-numbered districts and in the two-year term for District 6.
Of the incumbents, Republican Bill Lenert defeated Democrat Sandra A. King in District 5, Republican John Martin defeated Democrat Jody Kanikula in District 11, Republican Barbara Wojnicki defeated Democrat Lucas Strom in District 15, and Democratic challenger Mohammad “Mo” Iqbal defeated incumbent Kurt Kojzarek in District 19.
Democrat Matt Hanson defeated Ronald Ford, who ran as a write-in candidate and had been appointed to serve in the District 6 post.
In contests that did not involve incumbents, Democrat Anita Marie Lewis defeated independent Olynda De Hoyos in District 3, Republican Steve Weber defeated Democrat Lark Cowart in District 13, Republican Cliff Surges defeated Tara Jacobsen in District 21 and Democrat Christopher Kious defeated Republican Jim Patrician in District 23.
