POW! Make Arnie’s Incredible Journey Just Like Chance in ‘Homeward Bound’

With the holidays approaching, it’s hard to look at Arnie, KCAC’s 5-month-old white and brown Pit Bull-terrier-mix, without thinking of a particular Disney movie.
The one that comes foremost to mind is the 1993 Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey, where Chance, the young bulldog-mix, returns home on Thanksgiving Day along with his housemates Shadow the Golden Retriever and Sassy the Siamese cat, after they experience an incredible journey fraught with danger at every turn in an effort to return to their owners.
The film ends with a close-up on Chance in a moment of reflection as he realizes that, for the first time in his life, he finally has what he’s always wanted — a home.
Hopefully, it won’t take Arnie that long to learn the lessons of this allegorical tale, but for now, he is perfectly happy to share his energy and positive attitude with anyone willing to take the time to be with him. Arnie knows no strangers.
He is a very active and friendly puppy that will need a family familiar with the breed and serious about training. With a little work along with proper socialization, Arnie will become a full-fledged member of his forever family, adding just the right touch of playing, chasing the ball and cuddling.
How to Adopt
All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.
The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control
It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:
Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.- Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
- Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
- Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
