UPDATE — Municipal Election Results: Kaptain Wins Elgin Mayoral Race, Overstreet in Lily Lake

— 2:25 PM WEDNESDAY UPDATE

Incumbent David Kaptain defeated Carol Rauschenberger in the city of Elgin race for mayor, and Rick Overstreet defeated Mike Carlson for Lily Lake village president.

There were several interesting races for alderman or village board representative. Among the surprises were the apparent victories of two write-in candidates for Sugar Grove alderman. In that contest, write-ins Jennifer (Jen) Konen and Ryan R. Walter join Heidi Lendi in the winners’ circle, according to unofficial totals.

In Aurora, the apparent winner for the at-large alderman seat was incumbent Sherman L. Jenkins.

In Elgin, the four winners among seven aldermanic candidates were John Steffen, Tish S. Powell. Rose Martinez and Toby Shaw, according to unofficial totals.

The following are results posted on the Kane County Clerk’s Office and neighbor counties’ election websites. As always, if you see any errors or omissions, email kanecountyconnects@gmail.com.
