He looks at you as though you’re the only person in the world he would ever want to follow. You’re his leader, his friend, his forever buddy.
Brownie
His name is Brownie, found as a stray in Geneva, possibly let go because his owners decided this 1-year-old pit mix was too big or they couldn’t have him in their apartment or they just had a baby or they’re working too many hours or he didn’t match the décor of the living room.
Whatever the reason, the excuse, or the rationale, when Brownie is by your side, he’s all wiggles, canine in motion. If you tell him to sit, he sits. If you have a toy and you tell him to sit for the toy, he sits for the toy, waiting expectantly for that moment of play.
He doesn’t know he’s a pit bull-mix. He couldn’t care less. He’s all about meeting and greeting other dogs respectfully and then playing and running and jumping with his new tribe, his new friends.
He likes soft toys. They’re easier on the mouth, but he’ll play with that hard ball if you want him to. He’ll play with anything that’s thrown, rolled, tossed, kicked, punted or just handed to him.
If his new family will take the time to watch him play, that’s even better. He can show them how well he plays with other dogs and with all of the toys they might have. And maybe, just maybe, they’ll be able to take the time to train him to walk along beside them … his leaders, his friends, his forever buddies.

Elle
Congratulations to Elle, our super-sweet black and white talky Holstein-patterned kitten. A cuddly cat by any other name would still spell Elle.
Hugs all around because Elle found her forever family that definitely is open to all the cuddles she can dish out. She’s the keeper of the family secrets now, although Elle might be the only one talking.
How to Adopt
All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.
The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control
It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:
Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.- Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
- Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
- Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
