“Welcome to KCAC’s 2019 Fashion Pet of the Year award show with Sir Percival Smith.”
“Thank you, Nigel. I am so excited to preview some of the new feline fashions that have arrived at Kane County Animal Control. For example, this year’s summer and fall fashion statement is worn by the queen herself, Mesa, a 7-year-old Domestic Shorthair.”
“She definitely answers the question once and for all, ‘Should you wear white after Labor Day?’ ”
“And what’s the answer, Sir Percival? We definitely want the final answer to this question.”
“Well, of course you can, dahling! Feline fashion in the 21st century knows no bounds!”
“Aaannnd, notice her gold mask that accentuates her facial structure and cheekbones. Not a lot of other cats would dare take that risk, but, that accent along with the flowing gold and black raccoon tail — well, all I can say is she is workin’ the red carpet tonight!”
“She is all of it, Sir Percy. And I hear her one true addiction is to get petted morning, noon and night. Although her brother, Yuma, is also a fashion feline, she is fine if adopted separately from him. He tends to weigh her down (no pun intended) and cramp her creativity.”
“Well, Nigel, she has a tendency to throw her diva-ness around, so she would do well as an only feline!”
“With a personality like hers, I would totally agree! She definitely fills up a room.”

How to Adopt
All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.
The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control
It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:
Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.- Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
- Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
- Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
