POW! Absolutely Adorable Hank Is An Australian Cattle Dog With a Heart of Gold

There is something absolutely adorable about a medium-sized dog attempting to climb into his owner’s lap for some cuddle-time.
Take home super-lovable Hank!
First, the upper torso lays on top of the lap as much as possible as the right leg attempts to get some support from the couch by bending upward a couple of times looking for some kind of foothold. It almost appears as though the dog is trying to start up a motorcycle. Up to the couch, down to the floor, up to the couch, down to the floor.
Failing to find adequate support for the leg, he wiggles his entire body up and onto the couch and across the lap like a beached whale. He finally turns toward his owner with a sigh and waits for the hugs and pets. Isn’t life heaven?
Now, imagine that dog is Hank, a 1-year-old Australian Cattle dog, Pit Bull mix. This tan and white big baby boy’s biggest wish is to be someone’s new, oversized lap dog.
Found as a stray, Hank is a pretty laid-back kind of guy. A little training on the leash will keep him from pulling as the two of you go for your daily walk or run. Returning home means a nice nap on the couch with Hank cuddling beside you, taking up most of the couch.
Toys don’t factor into Hank’s plans for the afternoon, but perhaps another walk around the neighborhood will do. Hank meets and greets other dogs appropriately but he may get scared if the other dog is larger than he is. Then he calmly walks away, removing himself from the situation.
Hank is a very lovable young dog with a heart of gold. He’s looking for a forever family to give him all the cuddles, petting and love he can handle. Are you ready?

Prancer
We are so happy for Prancer, our male gray and white domestic shorthair. After such a long stay with KCAC, he finally got adopted by his forever family! Talk about a personality, Prancer was the ultimate public relations director for himself and the cat room.
He would introduce himself to anyone who came in to visit and then endear himself to them by following them around in order to get extra pets. You finally have a whole new audience, Prancer.

How to Adopt
All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.
The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control
It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:
- Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.
- Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
- Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
- Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
