Hey, Jude!
Jude
You’re just a 4-month-old kitten gray Domestic Shorthair, found as a stray in St. Charles. Tiny and alone, left in a carrier behind a tree, no food, no water on a warm autumn day.
It’s hard enough to be a kitten when you know where you live and you’ve learned your surroundings, but when you’re carried about not sure when you’re going to get your next meal, life seems almost too hard for such a young, innocent lady.
Maybe that’s why she has a little bit of an attitude, a little bit of “I’ve already lived a couple of cat-lives beyond my days of being on earth. I’ve seen far more than most cats ever will.”
It’s for that reason that Jude needs a stable home, one that will keep her for all of her days and allow her to live as she was meant to live. She prefers to be alone, but is learning to get along with other cats, although she can be a bit sassy towards even the older ones.
It doesn’t take her long, however, to make herself at home as her kitten instincts kick in and she finds anything and everything to play with as every place becomes her playground.
Jude’s young life didn’t start out on such a positive note, but she’s hoping that she can finally “take a sad song and make it better” if someone can let her into their heart.
How to Adopt
All Kane County Animal Control adoptable cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on all vaccines, including rabies. They are tested for feline leukemia/FIV and heartworm.
The adoption fee is $200 for dogs and $100 for cats. Adoption of two dogs is $300, and adoption of two cats is $150. The adoption fee for cockatiels is $25.

About Kane County Animal Control
It is the duty of the Animal Control Department to:
- Ensure that all domesticated dogs and cats over 4 months of age are vaccinated against rabies and have a Kane County rabies tag.
- Ensure that all reported animal bites are given precautionary attention in relation to the possibility rabies infection.
- Ensure that pet owners are instructed on proper procedures pertaining to animal bites and enforce adherence to these procedures.
- Contain loose\stray dogs in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
- Investigate nuisance dog complaints in unincorporated Kane County and those towns and villages with whom contracted.
