Aurora to Honor UConn Star Ryan Boatright on Saturday

The city of Aurora is planning a welcome-home celebration in honor of Ryan Boatright, the former East Aurora High School star who was a starter on the national-champion UConn Huskies basketball team.

According to the city of Aurora website, the celebration starts at 1:11 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at the iconic Paramount Theatre.

The celebration is free of charge and open to the public, and Boatright will be available for photos for a short amount of time after the program.

“I am so grateful to everyone for their support. It’s such an honor to be a part of this national championship team,” Boatright said in the city of Aurora article.

The event is sponsored by Aurora Alderman Scheketa Hart-Burns, Alderman-At-Large Richard Irvin, the City of Aurora, East Aurora School District 131, the African American Heritage Advisory Board, Triple Threat Mentoring, the Quad County African-American Chamber of Commerce and Boys II Men.
