VA Has Special Program for Wartime Veterans Struggling Financially
The Kane County Veterans Assistance second-quarter newsletter is out, and it’s full of great information.
If you know a Kane County veteran who might benefit from assistance, you can help them by clicking this link to sign up for the newsletter. You can also find more on the Veterans Affairs page of the Kane County website and by liking the VACKane Facebook page.
The lead story talks about the Non-Service Connected Pension and Survivors Pension programs. This is one of those services provided through the VA that many people might not know about.
VA helps veterans with wartime service and their families cope with financial challenges by providing supplemental income. The Veteran Service Officers at the Veterans Assistance Commission are specially trained to file for this benefit and turnaround time for Pension claims filed by the Veterans Assistance Commission is generally less than 45 days.
