The Kane County Sheriff’s Office responded to 6,746 incidents during the first quarter of 2014. That’s pretty much on par with the numbers from 2013’s first quarter, when there were 6,768 reported incidents.

As you can see by the analysis below — which you also can find on the Kane County Sheriff’s Office website — the category with the highest number of incidents is traffic stops, with 1,788. That number was significantly down in 2014, after 2,182 incidents in the first quarter of 2013.

Among the other statistics, one interesting side note was that the number of disabled-vehicle reports almost doubled comparing the first three months of this year to last year. In 2014, there were 1,010 disabled vehicles reported to the Sheriff’s Office compared to 531 in the first three months of 2013.
