A MESSAGE FROM THE VILLAGE OF MAPLE PARK

Good afternoon, this is Cheryl Aldridge from the village of Maple Park.  On behalf of the village we would like to wish you all a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend.

This year the Maple Park American Legion will be conducting its Memorial Day Ceremony at noon Monday at Kaneland High School. Over the weekend, they invite you to visit the Healing Field located at the Kaneland High School campus on Keslinger Road. The Healing Field will display more than 3,000 3-by-5 American flags, many of them sponsored by local citizens and dedicated to fallen heroes, first responders or loved ones.

The opening ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday with music and guest speakers including Village President Kathy Curtis. On Monday, a school bus offering free rides to and from the Healing Field will depart the Maple Park American Legion on Main Street starting at 11 a.m. and returning to Maple Park after the ceremony.
