Help Animals in Need by Donating to Anderson Animal Shelter’s ‘Jewelry Faire’
Hard to resist an email like this:
“I just wanted to say how much I enjoy the Newsletter and all the valuable information for Kane County. I have attached a flyer announcing our 8th annual Jewelry Faire to benefit Anderson Animal Shelter. The event is held in September in Geneva but we are already in full swing: collecting, cleaning and pricing thousands of jewelry donations. We would love to get some coverage in the Newsletter, both now and closer to the event itself.
“If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. It is a wonderful event and 100% of the proceeds benefit the animals.”
The Anderson Animal Shelter’s annual Jewelry Faire is one of the big fundraising events of the year for the humane society organization that helps so many animals year round. And it gives you a little peek at the scope of the project when you realize organizers start “digging for treasure” in May for an event that takes place Sept. 5 through Sept. 7 at the American Legion, 22 S. Second St., Geneva.
You can help animals in need by donating new, old, estate, fine, handmade and costume jewelry. Organizers also accept broken gold and silver pieces and better handbags. Typically, the event features more than 4,000 pieces of donated jewelry each year.
If you’d like to donate, please place donated jewelry in a sealed envelope, address it to Jewelry Faire Committee and drop it off at the shelter at 1000 S. LaFox Road, Elgin, or email jewelryfaire@andersonanimalshelter.org for special arrangements.
