Milling and paving on Allen Road and Getty Road will start the week of June 2.

Construction work hours will take place on Allen Road from Harmony Road to Brier Hill Road and on Getty Road from Harmony Road to US Route 20. Work hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day for two weeks, weather permitting.

The resurfacing process will include:

• Removal of 1 ½” of existing pavement to allow for the new surface course to be placed.
• Placement of 2 ¼” of an asphalt layer over an oil application to provide a new smooth riding surface.

Motorists should expect delays, increased travel times during the resurfacing process, and are advised to consider alternate routes during this work.

Temporary daily lane closures Monday through Saturday will be required to accomplish this work. The Kane County Division of Transportation is asking drivers to watch for fresh oil signs and flaggers and to reduce speed while traveling through construction zone.
