Morning Lap Swim is available from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Monday through Friday and Parent & Tot Swim is available from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Daily admission fees apply. Mill Creek Pool is located at 39W125 S Mill Creek Drive in Geneva.

I’m wondering who really benefits here; Geneva residents, Mill Creek residents, the Geneva Park District or the Shodeen Family? Geneva residents never had access to this pool so how do the Mill Creek residents like it being opened to everyone serviced by the Geneva Park District. Is the pool self-sustaining through memberships or will it create expenses for the Park District?
On the source it appears that the Shodeen Family got rid of a costly operational facility. Is it in need of repairs, will Geneva residents actually use the pool, are Mill Creek residents happy with their new club members? These are questions that I haven’t seen answered anywhere. While we are at it, does the Park District have plans to co-operate an indoor pool with the School District. That’s a question that seems to surface (pun intended) every few years.
Maybe instead of just sending out press releases, this publication should ask the community & elected officials some tough questions.
