Heads up to Kane County drivers who use Farnsworth Avenue.

A project to replace water mains along Farnsworth Avenue will necessitate partial lane closures starting Thursday, May 22.

The project will take place along Farnsworth Avenue from Indian Trail Road to Molitor Road. Crews will replace more than 4,000 feet of 12-inch water main, and provide new service to the area.

The project will take approximately eight to ten weeks to complete, weather dependent, with intermittent lane closures in both northbound and southbound lanes. Lane closures will be limited to the hours between 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily.

Farnsworth Avenue is expected to remain open for the duration of the project. However, motorists are advised to seek alternate routes or to expect delays. They should likewise slow down in the construction area and be alert for workers.
