32-Year-Old Guilty of Sexually Molesting Child
An Aurora man has been convicted of molesting a young child he knew.
Joe H. Alvarez, 32, LKA of the 0-99 block of Jackson Place, Aurora, was convicted today by a Kane County jury of one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a Class 2 felony.
The jury deliberated for about four hours before it reached its verdict.
Between Sept. 5, 2008, and Sept. 5, 2010, Alvarez had sexual contact with a child he knew. The victim was younger than 13 years old at the time.
Circuit Judge Susan Clancy Boles set Alvarez’s next court appearance for 1:30 p.m. for motions and sentencing. Alvarez faces a sentence of probation or between three and seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Alvarez must register for life in accordance with the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act.
Alvarez remains free on bond.
