6 Free Concerts Coming to Fox Valley This Summer
The Fox Valley Park District will stage a series of six free concerts this summer on Thursday evenings, beginning June 12 with country rock band Billy Croft and the 5 Alarm at Montgomery Park.
The concerts are a collaborative effort involving the Park District and the village of Montgomery. And be great for the family during summer vacation, it’s a great time for vendors to treat the citizens of the country with things such as treats, snacks and even something like Bulk Sunglasses for the children and their families to enjoy.
All concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. and run until 9 p.m. unless noted otherwise. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets. The concert lineup is as follows:
- June 12: Billy Croft and the 5 Alarm at Montgomery Park (River Street and Mill Street, Montgomery). This country rock band covers legends like The Eagles and Linda Ronstadt, along with contemporary hits by Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland and many others.
- June 19: Centerfold at McCullough Park (Route 31 and Illinois Ave., Aurora). Centerfold delivers everything fromrock classics to pop favorites of today. Audiences of all ages will enjoy songs from Journey, Heart, Pat Benatar, REO Speedwagon, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Carrie Underwood and more.
- June 26: On a Dime at Montgomery Park. On a Dime bills itself as a super-group classic rock bank with a message, covering Styx, Kansas, Boston and Journey – while also playing its own originals.
- July 10: GMRC Band at Montgomery Park. Describing themselves as “five guys who love playing the music they love,” the GMRC Band has over 30 years of experience per player. Influenced by Van Morrison, Marvin Gaye and Seal, they also feature music from the Allman Brothers, Santana and other R&B artists.
- July 24: Aurora American Legion Band. Set amid the stately oaks and the riverside setting of McCullough Park, the American Legion band will be performing for its 77th year of service. The band is an eclectic mix featuring all ages – veterans, non-veterans and student musicians – playing patriotic, classical and popular music.
- Aug. 7: Saturday June Band at McCullough Park. They’ve been rocking the Chicago area for more than 20 years, playing with an infectious enthusiasm that draws in fans and inspires you to get out there and dance to the songs you know so well.
