Flood Advisory for Fox River at Montgomery — But Watch Out on Fox in General
The National Weather Service Chicago issued a Flood Advisory on Monday for the Fox River, with special concern for the Montgomery area.
Water levels are high due to the recent rainfall, and storms were possible Monday evening and Monday night that could raise water levels above bankfull.
The safety message: If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find and alternate route.
The river level in Montgomery was 12.4 feet as of 11:45 a.m. Monday. The action stage is 12.5 feet and flood stage is 13 feet. By Tuesday afternoon, the river is expected to rise to 12.6 feet.
