The Riverbend Trail from South Elgin to St. Charles will undergo routine maintenance, June 30 – July 11, and users may experience periodic closures during that time.

The limestone trail will be resurfaced from Illinois Route 31 and McLean Boulevard, just west of Jon J. Duerr Forest Preserve, to Silver Glen Road. The work is part of the District’s annual maintenance program. Each year, the Forest Preserve District resurfaces 4 miles of trail.

Although the trail will generally be open during this time frame, trail users should expect occasional, temporary closures to accommodate equipment movement and safety concerns during the resurfacing. The trail will have signage indicating possible closures and when trail work will be completed.

Schedules are subject to change due to weather and other circumstances.  For more information, contact the Kane County Forest Preserve District at (630) 232-5980.
