20-Year-Old Pingree Grove Man Killed in Thursday Crash
A 20-year-old Pingree Grove man was killed at around 12:15 a.m. Thursday when a pickup truck and cargo van collided on Route 20 west of Route 47, according to reports in the Daily Herald and The Courier-News.
The man was identified as Ian Halasik. Reports said he was pronounced dead at Advocate Sherman Hospital shortly after the crash.
The Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team is working with Pingree Grove police on the accident investigation.
At the time of the report, it was not clear whether Halasik was the driver of the cargo van or the pickup truck. The other driver, from Ohio, was transported by helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries, reports said. Police did not release his name pending notification of his family, The Courier-News reported.
