40-Year-Old Pleads Guilty to Sex-Assault of 2 Children

An Aurora man is headed to prison after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting two children he knew.

Inocencio Hernandez-Reyes, 40, of the 600 block of East Galena Boulevard, Aurora, agreed Wednesday to a sentence of 20 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections in exchange for a guilty plea to two counts of criminal sexual assault, each a Class 1 felony.

Circuit Judge Susan Clancy Boles accepted the plea.

In April 2013, Hernandez committed an act of sexual penetration with the victim, whom he knew. The victim was younger than 12 years old at the time. Also, sometime between November 2005 and November 2006, Hernandez committed an act of sexual penetration with a second victim, whom he knew. The victim was younger than 12 years old at the time.

The sentence 10 years for each count.

In addition, Hernandez must register for life as a sex offender in accordance with the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act.

According to Illinois law, Hernandez must serve at least 85 percent of the sentence.

Hernandez receives credit for at least 433 days served in the Kane County jail, where he has been held since his arrest in lieu of $1 million bail. Bond was revoked upon conviction.

The case was prosecuted by Kane County Assistant State’s Attorneys Reagan McGuire and Debra Bree.
