Free Recycling Saturday, July 12 — Electronics, Books
Kane County Recycles is recycling electronics and books between 8 a.m. and noon Saturday, July 12, at 540 S. Randall in St. Charles. You can also pick up the new Kane County Recycles Green Guide for 2014-2015.
On July 12, you can recycle electronics — computers, keyboards, laptops, printers, televisions (any size or age), stereos, cell phones, microwaves, basically anything with a plug on it except large household appliances like refrigerators and washing machines. You can also recycle books of any age and condition here.
Kane County volunteers do the unloading for you.
A complete list of accepted items, and more information can be found at the Kane County Recycles website under “Electronics Recycling.” The next event will be from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 9, at the same location.
Kane County is only accepting electronics and books at this month’s event. But at the upcoming monthly events on Sept. 13 and Dec. 13, the county also will be accepting confidential documents for shredding and liquid latex paint for reuse. More information online at address above.
