French Road near Burlington will have limited access while the Kane County Division of Transportation works on bridge replacement.

According to the KDOT website,  the French Road bridge over Burlington Creek has had a weight restriction of 33 tons or five or more axles since February 2009.

Roadway construction started July 23, according to a previous KDOT press release.

The traffic pattern on French Road between Lenschow Road and Illinois Route 72 will change on Tuesday, Aug. 5, to include one closed lane with temporary traffic signals maintaining traffic through the construction zone 24-hours a day for the duration of the project. A reduced speed limit will be posted through the construction zone to protect motorists and construction crews.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution while traveling through the work zone, watch for equipment entering and exiting on French Road, and expect increased travel times.

Questions or concerns may be directed to Patrick VerHalen at (630) 208-3138. For all traffic advisories, see http://www.co.kane.il.us/dot/trafficalerts/Default.aspx.
