Front-Loader Flips Over, Killing Elgin Man in Geneva Township
An Elgin man was killed at about 1:15 p.m. Sunday in Geneva Township when a front-loader tractor he was driving flipped over for unknown reasons, trapping him underneath, according to a press release from the Kane County Sheriff’s Office.
Kane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 32W660 Fabyan Parkway in Unincorporated Geneva Township for a report of a subject who was trapped under a tractor. Upon arrival deputies learned that Joel Bork, 47, 1400 block of Getzelman Road, Elgin, was operating a light-weight front loader tractor on his family farm and for an unknown reason the tractor flipped over, trapping him underneath.
He was alone at the time of the incident.
When relatives got worried he had not been seen for a few hours they began to look for him. They located him under the tractor and called 911. Bork was pronounced deceased at the scene.
