Major Rail-Crossing Work Randall Road — After the Fair

Rail crossing removal on Randall near Dean Street.

Once the Kane County Fair is over, there’s going to be some major work on Randall Road in St. Charles just north of the fairgrounds.

The Union Pacific Railroad has scheduled the removal of the abandoned crossing on Randall Road south of Dean Street in St. Charles.

One lane of Randall Road in each direction of traffic will be closed between Dean Street and IL Route 64 (Main Street).

The work is scheduled to begin around 9 a.m. Monday, July 21,through around 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1.

“Please use alternate routes when possible,” the Kane County Division of Transportation said in a press release. “Expect delays in traffic flow due to the large amount of vehicles using Randall Road daily. There will be lane closure changes during this work.”
