Navy Band Will Perform in the Montgomery Fest Parade

Montgomery Fest Parade

Village of Montgomery officials have announced that the Navy Band will perform in the Montgomery Fest parade this year!

Also participating will be the 65-member Proviso West High School Band, along with the energetic Kaneland Marching Band and the Music Arts Drumline.  The lively bagpipes of the Tunes of Glory will be an added attraction.  For horse lovers, there are the stately and impressive Kane County Mounted Rangers.  The Division BMX Stunt Team will also do stunts that are sure to delight and amaze.

Parade attendees are invited to bring non-perishable food items on Sunday to the parade.  Please look for members of Our Savior Lutheran Church from Aurora, who will be pushing shopping carts to collect donations of food items for the local food pantry. It couldn’t be more convenient!

The parade will begin at Webster and Main Street, travelling south to Watkins, over to River Street and from there north to Mill Street.  The review stand is located in front of the Village Hall at 200 N. River Street.

In 2014, Montgomery Fest will be held on Aug. 8, 9 and 10.  Special events this year will include several contests, (carp derby, Battle of the Bands, talent show), terrific entertainment, and a parade that local groups or businesses can participate in with no registration fee (although advance sign-up is required).
