Randall Road Resurfacing Starts Week of Aug. 4

Get ready for Randall Road resurfacing work.

Milling and paving on Randall Road will begin the week of Aug. 4, 2014, with construction work hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day for about three weeks, weather permitting.

The work will take place on Randall Road between the Ferson Creek Bridge and Red Haw Lane. The resurfacing process will include:

  • Removal of 1 1⁄2” of existing pavement to allow for the new surface course to be placed
  • Placement of 2 1⁄4” of an asphalt layer over an oil application to provide a new smooth riding surface

Temporary daily lane closures Monday through Saturday will be required, so watch for fresh oil signs, flaggers and reduce speed while traveling through construction zone. Motorists should expect delays, increased travel times and are advised to consider alternate routes during this work.

Questions or concerns may be directed to John Guddendorf (630) 816-9671. For all Kane County traffic advisories, see www.co.kane.il.us/dot/trafficalerts.
