The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission is urging consumers to stop using all Buckyballs, Buckycubes, Magnicube Spheres, and Magnicube Cubes. These powerful magnet sets are being recalled to protect young children, tweens and teens from the risk of injury that can occur when more than one magnet is ingested. CPSC staff has received numerous incident reports of ingestions involving small, high-powered magnets, including many that required surgery.

“We want everyone in your community know that refunds are now available for all four of these recalled high-powered magnet sets,” said Carl Purvis of the U.S. Product Safety Commission. “Visit www.BuckyballsRecall.com or www.Magnicube.com today to request a refund.”

Download the Buckyballs Recall poster in English or Spanish at http://1.usa.gov/YRs50n to share information about the recall with parents and caregivers.

More information about the hazards of high-powered magnets is at the Magnet Information Center – www.cpsc.gov/magnets.
