Calling All Heroes — Dress Up for a 3k Fun Run in East Dundee
7 Hills Healthcare is inviting all community families to join in a 3K Hero Fun Run & Summer Bash on Saturday, Aug. 9. The event is free, but monetary donations to the FISH Food Pantry are welcome.
To start the day, a 3k Hero Fun Run will begin at 10 a.m. at The Depot, 319 N. River St., East Dundee and ends at 7 Hills Heathcare Center, 455 E. Main St., East Dundee. Racers and event attendees are encouraged to dress like their hero. Heroes can be anyone the racer or attendee admires or looks up to. A hero can be a family member, a favorite teacher, an actor or sports hero or a fictional character. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Depot. To pre-register, racers and teams may visit tinyurl.com/hero3k or call (847) 428-2273. All runners will receive a race packet upon check-in, which includes a race day t-shirt.
After the run, the event will continue in the parking lot of 7 Hills Healthcare Center. Attendees do not need to participate in the Fun Run to enjoy the Summer Bash party. The Summer Bash will begin at 11 a.m. and include free food, drinks, games and music. All are welcome to enjoy complimentary face-painting, balloon artists, bouncy houses and inflatable slides.
“It’s just a fun way to reach out to the entire community just before the school year begins. We’ve had such a positive response from both the business community and residents and have over 100 early registrations for the race. We are really looking forward to seeing friends and families come out for a end-of-summer get together,” says Aaron Bush, 7 Hills healthcare administrator.

FISH Food Pantry is a non-profit center that serves area residents in need. On average, the FISH Food Pantry helps over 500 families per month. FISH Food Pantry is located in Meadowdale Mall, 150 S. Route 25, Door 8B, Carpentersville, IL.
