Check Out This Awesome Winner of Kane County’s High School Radon Video Contest
The Kane County Healthy Places Coalition promoted the Illinois Radon Video Contest among all the high schools in Kane County through principals, science, math and communications teachers. Five high schools had students who submitted videos in the 2014 Radon Video Contest: Bartlett High School, Harry D. Jacobs High School, Illinois Math and Science Academy, Marmion Academy and St. Charles East High School.
Harrison Kearby and Christian Surtz, both of Marmion Academy, received certificates from the Kane County Healthy Places Coalition for participating in the contest, promoting radon awareness, and for winning third place at the Illinois state level.
Both students shared that they entered the contest to educate others, but also learned a lot themselves.
Their video, In Your Own Home, can be viewed here.
