Join the Forest Preserve District of Kane County this fall for our popular nature program series, “Homeschool Explorations.”

Each month, the homeschool program focuses on a different topic at a different forest preserve, allowing homeschool children to interact with local nature areas and learn about varying themes.

In September, the program will focus on seeds, and the different kinds of them. “Homeschool Explorations: Seeds” is from 10-11:30 a.m.Thursday, Sept. 11,  at Blackberry Maples Forest Preserve. The preserve is located at 43W231 Main St., Elburn.

In October, the theme is owls of Illinois. The program runs Thursday, Oct. 9, from 10-11:30 a.m. at  Tekakwitha Woods Forest Preserve, 35W076 Villa Marie Rd., St. Charles.

And in November, students will study white-tailed deer. The program is from 10-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13,
at Hampshire Forest Preserve, 44W880 Allen Road, Hampshire.

All ages are welcome to register for “Homeschool Explorations,” but the programs are geared toward children ages 5-10.
