IDOT Starts 3 Pavement Projects in Kane County
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that three pavement patching projects at various locations in Kane County are scheduled to begin, weather permitting, the week of Sept. 1.
The improvements consist of intermittent pavement repairs at each location for several days at a time. The projects could require reducing the roadway to a single lane of traffic with flaggers present during the daytime hours where construction is taking place. Repairs will be done at the following locations:
- Illinois 25 on Stearns Road to Bartlett Road in Bartlett.
- U.S. 30 from Orchard Road to Illinois 47 in Montgomery.
- Illinois 47 from Cross Street to Galena Boulevard in Sugar Grove.
Motorists can expect delays during times when the lane closures are in effect and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signing in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
The tentative completion date for all of the projects is Oct. 31. Geneva Construction Co., of Aurora, is the prime contractor on the $175,152 project.
