Need to Recycle Electronics, Books? It’s Free on Saturday, Aug. 9

Kane County Recycles is recycling electronics and books from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 9, at 540 S Randall in St. Charles.

On Aug. 9, you can recycle electronics — like computers, keyboards, laptops, printers, televisions (any size or age), stereos, cell phones, microwaves, basically anything with a plug on it, except large household appliances like refrigerators and washing machines.

You can also recycle books of any age and condition at this event.

“We unload for you!” Kane County Recycling Coordinator Jennifer Jarland said.

A complete list of accepted items, and more information can be found at www.countyofkane.org/recycling under “Electronics Recycling.” The county is only accepting electronics and books at this month’s event. But at the upcoming event from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 13, at the same location, the county also will be accepting confidential documents for shredding.

The recycling event is also a good time to pick up the new Kane County Recycles Green Guide for 2014-2015!
