Sugar Grove Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Accident on Densmore Road
A 73-year-old Sugar Grove man was killed shortly after 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22, after his pickup truck left the roadway and struck a utility pole on Densmore Road, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office reported Saturday.
According to a Kane County Sheriff’s Office press release, deputies responded at around 5:15 p.m. Friday to the area of Densmore south of Hankes Road for a single-vehicle crash.
A pickup truck with a single occupant — later identified as Rodger Lambert, 73, of the 300 block of Maple Avenue in a Sugar Grove — was southbound on Densmore when it left the roadway “for an unknown reason,” the press release said.
The Sugar Grove Fire Department responded, and an emergency medical helicopter was dispatched, but Lambert was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“At this time it does not appear there were any other vehicles involved, and investigators are trying to determine if the driver suffered a medical event prior to the crash,” Lt. Chris Collins said in a press release.
The crash is under investigation, and no additional information was available over the weekend.
