Geneva Man Involved in Standoff Is Charged With Disorderly Conduct
A Geneva man was charged with disorderly conduct after Geneva Police said he fired a handgun outside of his home Sept. 3.
Jacob S. Danmar, 66, of the 200 block of Syril Drive was served Sept. 11 with a complaint/notice to appear in court. After consulting with the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, it was determined Danmar be charged with disorderly conduct (G6-2-2-B).
At 10:37 a.m. Sept. 3, Geneva Police responded to Danmar’s home when his wife said he may have been in danger after the couple became involved in a verbal argument. The woman told police when she left the residence, Danmar had a gun in his possession, and she was fearful for his safety.
Danmar fired his gun outside the home before Geneva Police arrived. After confirming with neighbors that gunshots had been heard, and that police were unable to make contact with Danmar inside his home, the Kane County SWAT Team was requested to assist. Officers from both the City and County SWAT were able to contact Danmar and safely bring him into custody after 90 minutes.
Danmar’s court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21 at the Kane County Branch Court, 530 S. Randall Road, St. Charles.
