IDOT: Route 64 Resurfacing Starts Monday

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced Thursday that a resurfacing project on Illinois 64 from County Line Road to Illinois 47  in Maple Park and Virgil will begin, weather permitting, on Monday, Sept. 29.

The improvements consist of intermittent pavement repairs, such as pavement removal, patching, milling, and resurfacing. The project could require reducing the roadway to a single lane of traffic with flaggers present during the daytime hours where construction is taking place.

The anticipated completion date for this project is Nov. 30.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
