Kane County Home Ownership Expo Coming in October — Buy It, Fix It, Keep It
If you’ve got a dream of buying a home, or fixing yours up or just making the mortgage payments to stay living in it, there’s a great event coming up Oct. 18 in Elgin.
The Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave., Elgin, is playing host to the Kane County Home Ownership Expo, from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 18, at the library. Dozens of vendors will be attending, and there will be experts available to answer all questions, in English and in Spanish.
For prospective homeowners, there’s information on how to get ready to buy a home, and real estate agents, lenders, home inspectors, insurance agents and housing counselors will be on hand. If you need down-payment assistance, this a good chance to learn more about that, as well.
For Kane County resident who’d like to fix up their homes, home-improvement experts and lenders will be available to offer advice on maintaining your investment.
For folks worried about foreclosure or having trouble making ends meet, refinance lenders, foreclosure-prevention counselors and credit counselors will offer consultation.
