Looking for a job in the manufacturing field?

Thirteen of the Elgin-area’s top manufacturing companies along with School District U-46 and Elgin Community College are gathering at the Gail Borden Public Library for an area-wide event called “Manufacturing Your Future” now through Oct. 5. A grand opening celebration of the partnership will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, at the library, 270 N Grove Ave, Elgin.

Valerie Cuchna of Fabric Images points out in this YouTube video that jobs are available, and local companies are eager to hire.

“We want students and their parents to be really excited about careers in manufacturing,” she says. “We’re always looking for a good pool of skilled workers, and this is a great way to expose different people to the careers in manufacturing that are available right here in your back yard.”
