Music Will Flow at Geneva’s Festival of the Vine Sept. 5-7

The Geneva Chamber of Commerce’s 33rd Festival of the Vine is set for Sept. 5-7 in downtown Geneva and has an array of talent that offers something for every type of music fan.

All entertainment is on the Entertainment Stage at North Fourth Street and State Street in downtown Geneva.

Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, 10 a.m. to10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7.

ENTERTAINMENT

Friday, Sept. 5

  • 4-5 p.m. — Ask Your Folks, a Chicago-based trio comprised of guitar, fiddle, and string bass. Trained in a variety of styles, each member has brought aspects of their favorite genres to the group, resulting in a cohesive blend of bluegrass, jazz, Appalachian folk, and funk.
  • 6- 7:30 p.m. — The Snake Oil Barons are known for soulful vocals, tight harmonies, and explosive instrumental passages. From deep Blues to funky jams to melodic toe-tappers, they cover a wide range of material and make it their own.
  • 8 – 9:30 p.m. — The Moods are a singing group consisting of four guys dedicated to the fine art of harmony and choreography. Performing Motown, blues, pop, jazz, doo-wop and rock ‘n’ roll – they are not to be missed.

Saturday, Sept. 6

  • noon-1 p.m. — State Street Dance Studio performs excerpts from their two full-length productions of Alice in Wonderland and Sleeping Beauty. Also, making an appearance will be State Street Dance Company and State Street Dance Company II.
  • 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. — Majors Junction produces a diverse meld of country honky-tonk blues with folk undertones and hints of bluegrass pickin’ and good old rock & roll. It is a unique sound that celebrates individuality and hard work, two qualities the band shares with its hometown of Chicago.
  • 8-10 p.m — Hiline Band delivers top entertainment with a can’t miss combination of Motown, ’70s and ’80s dance hits.

Sunday, Sept. 7

  • noon-4 p.m. — The Blind Roosevelts offer a mix of acoustic/electric rock laced with strong harmony vocals.
